About Us

The Fastest Growing Media Preservation Network

Capture, formerly known as YesVideo, has a rich history of innovation and leadership in the memory preservation industry.

Founded in 1999, the company’s vision was to enable consumers to view and enjoy their analog memories online even though it was ahead of its time.

Over the years, Capture has continuously innovated, introducing groundbreaking products such as the YesCD, YesDVD, and MemorySafe, and expanding its offerings for the commercial market.

With a focus on direct-to-consumer and retail partnership, YesVideo quickly grew to service over 34,000 retail locations and expanded globally to countries such as Japan, Korea, Australia, and India.

The company has also been recognized for its innovation, winning a CES Consumer Innovations award and being named a hosting provider for Microsoft’s Windows Movie Maker.

In 2021, YesVideo launched its Capture brand, refreshing its image after 20+ years.

Today, Capture is proud to continue its legacy of preserving memories. We have recently been invited to pilot a new partner program with Google Photos, allowing users to seamlessly digitize and preserve their memories.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Our founder, Sai-Wai Fu, had a visionary concept to enable consumers to view and enjoy their analog memories online, which we called webcasting back then.

We started by digitizing videotapes to CDs at our processing facility in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Recognizing the lack of online business at the time, we knew a retail supply chain was necessary to reach consumers.

In May 2001, we took our first step into retail with independent camera stores through Kodak Processing Labs, and then expanded to large retail chains through Kodak and Fujifilm.

Rapid expansion led us to servicing over 25k retail locations by 2004, including Walgreens, Target, Rite Aid, and more through Kodak/Qualex and Fujifilm’s logistics.

In 2003, YesVideo expanded to transfer movie film, slides, and prints to CD and DVD. As YesVideo grew, Kodak/Qualex was enabled to capture on site using YesVideo’s platform, eliminating the need to send customer media on an additional journey to the processing lab.

In the same year, YesVideo launched minilabs behind the Geek squad desk in key Best Buy stores, which ultimately found its best fit in Ritz Camera stores.

In 2002-2006, YesVideo expanded globally through licensing their patented technology in Canada and Japan, as well as partnering with key retailers in Asia, Europe, and beyond.

We opened logistics in Puerto Rico in 2006 to service Walgreens and other retailers.

In 2009, we started allowing customers to prepare their orders at home and drop them off at one of over 30,000 retail locations for processing. We also opened a second processing facility in on the east coast.

That same year, we launched our cloud storage platform, MemorySafe, which enabled private online access for viewing and sharing of videos and photos.

MemorySafe was an add-on feature to DVD offering, and it was available at Bartell Drugs, CVS/Pharmacy, and Walgreens stores nationwide.

In 2010, YesVideo began working directly with major retailers such as Costco, Walmart, CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Best Buy and others, servicing approximately 85% of photo counters in the US.

That same year, we launched HD video to Blu-ray conversion service and MemoryEditor, a feature of its online archival service MemorySafe, allowing users to mix video segments and create custom video collages that can be published onto DVDs and shared online.
